“It was the last game at the Kincho Stadium before the closure for next 2 years, and also was the 1st game to be concentrated on the league matches after the defeat for the cup, and players faced well with possessing high concentration. They showed very positive play for both offence and defence throughout the 1st and 2nd half. Then although they could reach to in front of the goal, they couldn’t finish with a goal. However, even after loss of the opponent’s opening goal, they never gave up and tried to catch up, and almost turned it round. It seemed all the players’ consciousness for defence was very high, and also they attacked well too. Probably, it is the decisiveness that we should improve. At every single matches, we have so many supporters come along for us, and I would like thank them again, it’s so grateful. And I am sorry we didn’t win today, despite the support we had. We still have 8 more league matches, so we’ll never stop, keeping our head up, and try our best.”

Q: Wasn’t it the special game for you emotionally?
“I wanted to win of course, I wish Kazuya (Yamamura), Toshi (Toshiyuki Takagi) and I could create better situations, and also personally I received 3 or 4 fantastic passes from Hotaru (Yamaguchi). That was so close… I thought I was preparing, but missed by so closely, like my 1st touch was too strong for one of them. My errors caused missing goal so I must re-work on it. However, the only way to learn how to react to the passes coming out at like that timing is by playing in games, and I can feel that my sense is coming back at every single second, so all I can do is keep playing, I think.”
Q: That was the situation you are so good at, but couldn’t score today. Is that because you played with one top formation after quite long time?
“Oh well, to be honest, we had many chances. Though we had to score goals as many as we could, the game like today will happen again. At the end, we must work on how to reach to the end, then we’ll be able to attack better and widen the possibilities.”
Q: It seems you kept on possessing the eagerness to attack until the end.
“I kept calling out on the pitch, like ‘come forward!’ to the guy behind. Reflecting that, the best play in today’s match was that at one situation Hotaru made a save by his own by returning just by himself to uncovered pitch, and I thought that showed the Cerezo about. If all of us can attack with the firm trust on Hotaru, that’ll increase our chances. And if we could finish by that, it would be happier situation. The guys at back worked so well, so it was my fault we didn’t win today.”
Q: This is a fantastic stadium with great atmosphere, so isn’t it sad that you won’t be able to play here for a while?
“Yes, it is. We had many Iwata’s supporters too today, they flagged the banners up for concerning the typhoon, and that encouraged us a lot. At the last match at Kincho Stadium, I am very proud to play against the team who has such great supporters. Anyway, especially at the game like that, Yoshito Okubo shouldn’t cause the trouble (laughter), there comes a trouble or two again. He is probably seeking any attentions (laughter).”
